Victoria’s Secret and Swarowski light up New York

Swarovski, the world leader in cut crystal and fashion jewelry, is delighted to announce this year’s celebrated Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show marks the thirteenth year of the inspirational partnership between Victoria’s Secret and the crystal maison. The dazzling catwalk extravaganza will air on December 8 at 10PM EST on the CBS Television Network.

Now celebrating its 120th year, the crystal maison has inspired creative talents from the worlds of fashion, jewelry, accessories, interior design and lighting with its brilliant crystal innovations. The crystal brand constantly seeks to push the boundaries of creativity whilst bringing the glamour of crystal to both designers and consumers alike. Since 2002, Swarovski has exclusively adorned costumes, shoes and jewelry with radiant crystal for the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Shows. This year this inspirational nexus joins lingerie with couture, as the world’s most beautiful models — known as Victoria’s Secret Angels — take to the runway in breathtakingly beautiful creations. For the 2015 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, Swarovski will add sparkling glamour to what promises to be a gorgeous event. Runway looks from the various collection themes throughout the entire show, including Fireworks, Ice Angels, Exotic Butterflies and Portrait of an Angel, are embellished with crystal.

Ice Angels
This season Swarovski brings sparkle to the Ice Angels theme, recalling snowboarders with a touch of icy luxe. Bodysuits, shoes, and looks in this section are embellished with iconic edelweiss crystals; developed to commemorate Swarovski’s 120th anniversary and named after the most precious and rare flower of the Alps.

The Fireworks section of the show provides a sparkling finale for the show and features a custom look created exclusively for Swarovski, adorned with over 90,000 crystal beads, stones and pendants on a meticulously handcrafted 22-pound corset designed by Parisian couturier Serkan Cura. This year will be Cura’s third one crafting looks for the show, of which he worked on 21 looks for; more than in any past season, using just under 1 million Swarovski crystals. Worn by model Martha Hunt in her first year as an Angel, this bespoke corset dazzles with crystal in myriad shades of golds, reds, emeralds, blues and patinas. Intricate red and yellow crystal beads in mini pave and marguerite shapes in vibrant reds and yellow adorn the fringe of the corset alongside brilliant fire opal crystals. The look also features spectacular Angel wings embellished with over 20,000 golden and iridescent crystals and 130 feet of LED lights made by Killer. The battery pack charged wings weigh nineteen pounds with approximately 1,200 lights lining the wing’s silhouette. Red Atelier Swarovski cuffs and delicate cobalt blue heels with emerald Swarovski crystals complete the sparkling finale look.
