In-line with the accessible and affordable ethos, World Art Dubai embraces the expansive array of cultures and style by matching it with varying price-points – artwork prices range from USD 100 upwards. World Art Dubai is the largest affordable art retail fair provided a unique fusion of art, entertainment, and education. The event features amazing artworks and installations along with a variety of creative visitor activities, from live painting, doodle marathon, VR art, art talks, creative learning workshops, live music, and Ripe Craft Market.

The fifth edition of World Art Dubai in 2019, concluded on a high as it marked three award ceremonies during the closing days of the show. Heralded as the most successful edition in its five years, the fair placed the spotlight on a range of international and emerging artists and galleries, awarding winners across numerous competitions and awards that took place during the show.

A headline event of the Official Dubai Art Season, World Art Dubai returns for its sixth edition bringing affordable contemporary art from all over the world to the increasing art demand of the Middle East.

“The sixth edition has been curated to attract an even wider pool of art enthusiasts and collectors by providing live art demonstrations, wearable art collections and interactive activations across varied mediums and styles,” says Nidhi Kumari, head of World Art Dubai. “The beauty of the show is that we cater to a large audience, with a variety of contemporary artworks taking centre stage.” The essence of the fair is that it is home to a variety of affordable and engaging art for exhibitors and buyers alike.

The art scene in Dubai is relatively young but has come quite a long way. Kumari speaks about the increase in art across the region in the recent years, and how it has raised curiosity among the general public.

Fresh activations and engagements will also be on display. Staying true to our times, World Art Dubai will also showcase the concept of “VR Art”. For the first time ever for the fair, a unique collaboration between art and technology will be used to target the more tech savvy millennials. “Blurring the lines between reality and imagination, the live painting experience will bring 3D art to life,” states Kumari. “The incredible artist, speed painter and VR performer, Cathy Deniset, will customize pieces to fit shoppers’ preferences on the spot, in addition to other exciting digital activations.”
Another first for World Art Dubai will be ‘Artism’, an initiative by Dubai’s Senses Centre designed to positively impact those with special needs. On show in this section will be artwork prepared by 20 children with autism in collaboration with 30 artists, and all proceeds will go towards helping special needs individuals.

“This year, we have curated an even more interactive and engaging program, by combining classic and modern art works with a cast of sculptors, art performers, short film producers and graffiti artists assembled to entertain crowds on the show floor,” says Kumari. “We expect this to raise World Art Dubai’s profile even more, bringing together creative minds from a wide variety of backgrounds and age groups.”
