The HISWA in-water Boat Show, which will take place in the Amsterdam Marina from 29 August to 3 September 2017, will offer a wide range of activities. In addition to hundreds of watersport products, 250 boats and the latest trends and gadgets in the field of watersports, the event will feature a comprehensive activity programm for visitors of all ages.
A full day out
“We want to offer our visitors a full day out,” says exhibition manager Michelle Jonker. “Watersport enthusiasts should be able to buy, see, be inspired, and, most importantly, enjoy their hobbies in a dynamic environment.”
During the entire week, the exhibition will be looking for the best boating enthusiasts in the Netherlands. During the Dutch Manoeuvring Championships, the exhibition will partner with Raymarine to find the person who is the best at manoeuvring, mooring and slaloming. Awards will be presented daily, and the winner of the week will receive a flying lesson for three persons from Wooning Aviation. In addition to the championships, visitors can take to the water on a historic Royal Netherlands Sea Rescue Institution lifeboat, sail on the IJ waterway and the Amsterdam canals with Lovers, [A1] and test the waters on various new models.
The Motorboat Theatre will be the stage for various presentations and theme days by Motorboot/Roskam Media. Watersport enthusiasts can find inspiration on sailing in France on Wednesday, in Germany on Thursday and on the open sea on Tuesday and Friday. Saturday will focus on day sailing, with many tips on how to make the most of the experience. On Sunday, the programme will be concluded with a presentation on sailing the Dutch Wadden Sea.
A watersport exhibition is also a place for dreaming. Boaters Joshua and Katia are definitively returning to the Netherlands after six years of sailing the world, and will be welcomed at the Amsterdam Marina during the HISWA Amsterdam in-water Boat Show by their family and friends. They will share their memories and experiences with the exhibition visitors throughout the week. The Boats with a Story pavilion will feature various unique boats on board which the captains, builders or owners will share their stories and adventures.
There will also be plenty to do for children at the HISWA in-water Boat Show. Kids up to 13 with a swimming certificate can take part in the Optimist on Tour workshop to learn how to sail in an Optimist sailboat or try their hand at various watersports such as canoeing.
The HISWA in-water Boat Show offers a broad and diverse overview of boats; small and large, serial or custom built, in aluminium, steel or polyester, including dozens of global premieres. The exhibition is also the perfect place for people looking to buy a boat, as practically all large Dutch and European brands will be represented. The range includes day sailers, cabin boats, sailing yachts, catamarans, motoryachts, launches, tenders, sports boats and RIBs.
