With Fitur 2021, IFEMA will strengthen the tourism industry
IFEMA, the most important event hall in Madrid is already working on the next call for the Madrid International Tourism Fair, Fitur 2021, to be held from January 20 to 24 next year. This event is shaping up to be a reunion that will strengthen the recovery of the tourism sector after the unprecedented crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The event that inaugurates the international calendar of tourism fairs will be the first contact of the tourism sector, which will establish the lines of work that will set the tone for the entire postcoronavirus exercise. This edition will focus on how tourism can contribute to gender equality and the empowerment of women. During five days of commercial and business activity, the different tourism companies and organizations will place the national and international tourism offer, marked by a new reality, in a showcase aimed at strengthening an essential sector for the recovery of the economy, and show its future trends in terms of specialization, technology and sustainability.
IFEMA has dedicated itself to the analysis and certification of a series of security measures in order to resume its activity and recover the strategic role of fairs and congresses. In this sense, the fairground is already adopting all the protocols based on the criteria defined by the health authorities and the main international public and sector organizations to be prepared to receive exhibitors and visitors of international stature.
FITUR will accommodate all the wide diversity of proposals on the current tourism scene. Destinations, companies and specialized areas will offer new trends, business niches and the forefront of this industry in the Fiturtech, Fitur Know How & Export, Fitur Screen, Fitur Festivals, Fitur Lgbt + and Fitur Health spaces.
Likewise, Fitur will address the talent and training of people to interact with the new digital tourist in the space released last year by Fitur Talent. In terms of sustainability and with an eye towards how tourism can be a driver of change, taking into account cultural, social and environmental values, the Fiturnext Observatory works on the identification and selection of good practices that contribute to conceiving positive tourism for visitors. , the resident, the destinies and the planet.
In collaboration with the Responsible Tourism Institute (ITR), Fitur will award for the second consecutive year the Sustainable Stand Award, in recognition of the effort of the exhibiting companies to make their presence at the fair a space that is respectful of the environment and against climate change. Fitur also works on its agenda of B2B meetings, both the general Fitur B2B Match program, as well as those specialized in meeting tourism, incentives, congresses and incentive events, Fitur MICE and in the African tourism offer, Meet Africa.
As in other editions, a program of conferences will be held for each of the sections of the fair and in the different activities, with the participation of experts from the sector, organized in collaboration with the most representative companies and international organizations of the sector in the field. global like the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), the Ibero-American Conference of Tourism Ministers and Entrepreneurs (CIMET), Investour and the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC).
