Villa del Arte Galleries, established in 1999, represents over 30 carefully selected multidisciplinary artists in three emblematic singular locations in the ´culture capitals´ Barcelona and Amsterdam.
Over the course of two decades, the gallery has built an international reputation for individuality, innovation and dedication to the celebration of art and beauty. The long-held belief of inclusivity to all collectors and admirers on all levels, has resulted in previously little-known artists exhibited alongside the likes of established figures such as Jaume Plensa and Juvenal Ravelo.
Each and every artist is given various platforms through the gallery’s constant presence on the contemporary art scene. Villa del Arte annually participates at high level international art fairs in New York, Amsterdam, New Delhi, London, Istanbul and Miami, shows work on diverse digital platforms, unites with museums and institutions and collaborates with directors of cultural and social projects and festivals.
Pride is taken in the innate independent spirit of the creative scene and encouraged through an ever-evolving home grown program within Villa del Arte´s three permanent galleries and sculpture garden – together totalling over 1500 m2 of exhibition space. The garden, on the Cathedral Square in the city center, brings both visitors and passersby up close and personal with Liechennay´s monumental, hand soldered steel sculptures.
The latest exciting project is a stunning fourth gallery in Barcelona´s luxury shopping hot spot, Paseo de Gracia, known as home to some of Gaudi’s outstanding modernist architecture, and is set to showcase the latest Villa del Arte collection.
Artists of exceptional talent such as Corevengi with his large-scale exotic and opulent scenes in oils, Barcelona´s very own Montse Valdes with her sensitive light dappled portraits, Ingravidesa Alliance´s organic, silver and gold leaf sculptures fashioned from recycled tree roots, the Japanese artist Mari Ito´s finely tuned floral explosions of colour, Jean-Francois Rauzier´s perfectly composed imagined hyper-photography, will all be on show from December 7th.
Other work by acclaimed artists such as Christiaan Lieverse and Nemo Jantzen from the Netherlands, the Catalan sculptor Jordi Diez, famous for his large steel interior / exterior creations, and the renowned bold Parisian artist, Francoise Nielly will all feature.
Twenty years of experience, embracing an ever-changing diverse contemporary art scene has added many interesting facets to this international gallery whose vocation has always been to bring its curated mix of artist´s visions closer to the public. Open to all, seven days a week. Drop in or make an appointment, the multilingual, knowledgeable team are always willing to guide and advise collectors, visitors, designers and the culturally curious.
