MEERSON London launches the Mutiny Chronograph

Time for a Mutiny in the world of luxury timepieces.
MEERSON launches the Mutiny Chronograph Limited Production Bespoke Watch Collection, combining an aesthetic of British cool with superior Swiss craftsmanship.

MEERSON introduces the Mutiny Chronograph, breaking boundaries in the world of luxury timepieces and reinventing “made to order.” A radical departure from the time-honoured tradition of bespoke watchmaking, this luxury piece does not carry a “luxe” price tag. The Mutiny offers the ultimate client experience, with an incomparable level of personalisation and service, and at an exceptional price point – starting at £4,475 (£3,730 excluding UK VAT). Collaboratively designed with MEERSON’s UK-based team, the watch exudes British cool, but is truly Swiss Made entirely crafted by best in class artisans in Switzerland.

The starting point for clients is the simple, balanced style of the Mutiny’s case, which is clean and rounded in design. The wire-type lugs are gently tapered and curved, while contrasting metal finishes enhance the watch’s streamlined, elegant form. At 40mm with an arched case back, the Mutiny is supremely comfortable.
From a technical perspective, the Swiss precision mechanical movement delivers the heartbeat and spirited soul of the watch. Needing a hard-working, robust movement for this watch, MEERSON selected the Concepto manufacture to deliver the AM-0788 – a Swiss calibre of traditional heritage and design that has a superb reputation for accuracy and reliability.

Beyond the design of the Mutiny’s silhouette, the opportunity to customise the watch feels almost limitless. With this watch, as always, MEERSON cultivates its signature “Art in Detail.” And like great bespoke suits and couture dresses, MEERSON offers a highly tailored, collaborative experience. Clients can personalise subtle features such as the polishing, colour and engraving of the case, or the fabric and stitching on the strap. Dial colour and/or pattern may be customised and a coating applied to the hands. The strap fabric pattern or leather may also be picked to match an outfit or a mood as the straps are not only made to order, they are easily interchangeable. Each watch is individually numbered and can be further personalised with a pattern on the back or secretly engraved with a meaningful message. Lastly, there is a travel pouch that can be personalised to match the watch’s straps and include the owner’s name or initials.

The experience does not end at the time of delivery. Each Mutiny comes with a 5 Year limited guarantee, and Owners are invited to the regular events of the House.
Ongoing modifications and upgrades are possible even years after purchase – from changing the dial to reviving the watch’s polishing. The Personalisation service transforms a special timepiece into a personal heirloom.

In a world of icons, where most watches were designed decades ago, MEERSON offers a fresh, innovative approach to watchmaking, frequently launching new products. The brand is also innovating in other ways. At the point of personalising their Mutiny, clients can download the MEERSON App to help visualise their personal timepiece and track the progress of the manufacturing process. Cutting edge Augmented Reality even brings the individual watch to life before it is manufactured.

“I am a designer and, in the spirit of the Maison de Luxe, the best results are obtained by collaborating with the owners and craftspeople. Owning something personalised is really cool states designer Alexandre Meerson. “We have a great appreciation for the process, as our clients are genuinely involved in the design, then long for and crave it as our artisans meticulously hand craft their one-of-a kind Mutiny. And yet, this luxury timepiece and experience does not need to carry a luxe price. We have cut out the intermediaries to offer a fair price”.

MEERSON has launched a website for the Mutiny: www.chronomutiny.com
This dedicated website is now live and already takes orders. Clients are encouraged to reserve their piece as soon as possible with a deposit of £500 securing an order in the next manufacturing run, for worldwide delivery starting in October 2017.
